Late or Past
Due Payment Policy
One of the
most difficult parts of my job is sending out past due invoice notices.
In our last billing period over half of my customers were more than
40 days late with their payments
and more than 35% of my customers are now over 90 days late.
A sluggish economy has caused many people to face some difficult circumstances.
Every business, as well as mine, is in this same situation.
I have had to implement
a new payment policy; it is as follows:
We send out invoices
every 3 months. A due date is on every invoice, with a 10 day grace
period.
If your invoice is not paid within 30 days, your website may be removed
from the internet until payment is made.
If your website is removed
from the internet it will lose its' place on all search engines within
a couple of days. A move like this could cost you many customers and
will more than likely cost me your business.
That's why this new policy breaks my heart, but it is necessary.
My dilemma is overwhelming
to me as I am sure it is to anyone who is facing a difficult time.
I value every customer... Please advise us if there are difficult circumstances
or reasons you have not made your payment; we may be able to help.
I am sending this letter to all of my customers because I truly do care
about you and my business future.
Please keep in mind that I do not ask my customers for contracts to
force them to purchase my services longer than needed and I feel that
I am one of the most reasonably priced WebMasters on the internet. Please
always remember, that while I do not want to lose one customer over
these difficult economic times... you are not under any contract to
continue services you cannot afford or no longer want.
To help you remember your payment, I will always try my best to send
out "friendly" past due notices.
The last thing I want to do is take your website down and lose you as
a customer.
If you have received a past
due notice and felt it was unfriendly, for that, I am truly sorry.
